In doctrine, we are a Protestant, Evangelical,
Conservative, Pentacostal church. In practice, we expect to experience our doctrines
by the
study of the Word
of God, by the coming together as believers, by the times set aside to pray
to our Father, and by the active presence of the Third Person in the Trinity,
the Holy Spirit, in our personal lives and in our corporate life as a body of
believers.
WE BELIEVE:
1. The Bible is the inspired, authoritative, and only infallible written Word of God.
2. There is one God, eternally existed in three persons: God the Father, God
the Son, and God the Holy Spirit
3. In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless
life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection,
in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His personal future return
to this earth in power and glory to rule a thousand years.
4. In the Blessed Hope - the rapture of the Church at Christ's coming
5. That the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith
in the precious blood of Christ
6. The regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal Salvation
7. In Water Baptism by immersion
8. The redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing of the human body
in answer to believing prayer.
9. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers
who ask for it.
10. In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indweling the Christian
is enabled to live a holy life.
11. In the ressurection of both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting
life and the other to everlasting damnation.
To prepare each member for works of ministry through
a sure foundation in the Word and continued growth in Christ Jesus. (Based on
Ephesians 4.12-15)
"Without a vision, the people will perish"
The Bible says
that for a group of people to thrive there needs to be a vision placed
before them that they can work to achieve. At Elim, through much prayer
and seeking
of God, we have adopted the following as our Vision Statement:
1. To be a Community of Believers, a
family growing in Christ, where all are welcome
2. To be a house of Prayer and Worship to our God
3. To be a place of healing for all that come and thirst
and are in need
4. To reach the unchurched! This city, state, nation and
world, for Jesus Christ
5. To train up Spiritual leaders, to provide training for
all aspects of Christian living
6. To have a worldwide perspective of Missions, both here
and overseas
