MISSION STATEMENT & CORE VALUES

The mission of Elim Community Church's Interns/Studentship is to develop Christian leaders with a passion to: REACH out to the hurting and lost in their local communities, regions, state, nation and world, SERVE others with a Christ like passion, GIVE unselfishly as stewards of God's resources, and to BUILD the Kingdom of God by investing in the lives of all they have contact with, and to leave an indelible fingerprint in the lives of future generations. Elim aims to push individuals to live a life of excellence, equipping them to bring the healing truth of Jesus Christ to a hurting and lost world.

Solidify Foundation

Building a solid Biblical foundation and worldview is a core value of Elim Community Church, and will be built upon as Interns/Students take classes that cover topics like: Theology, Old and New Testament, Life of Christ, Communication, Servant Leadership, Evangelism, Spiritual Formation, Discipleship, Ethics, Counseling, Christian Education, Local Church-Vision of the House, Missions, Holy Spirit, Biblical Interpretation, Minister Roles, Christian Apologetics, Worldviews, and more.  Our goal is to produce a well-rounded Biblical base that an intern will be able to utilize whether in a church or secular setting.  Elim Interns/Students will attend three to five hours of class a week, depending on their degree option, taught by Elim Community Church staff and various outside guest speakers.  Interns/Students receive access from men and women from all walks of ministry life, with years of experience to invest in them for their future Christian walk and ministry.

Experience Ministry

Elim Interns/Students’ “skill sets” will expand as they serve at Elim Community Church worship services, outreaches and in other various ministry settings. Interns/Students will learn ministry through hands-on experience, as they serve throughout the church, and under experienced and committed staff and leaders.  Interns/Students will be assigned to intern under a ministry based on their passions, skills, gifts, abilities, experiences, and need of the church.  In their Interns/Studentship, Interns/Students will learn ministry through hands-on experience. Interns/Studentships are available in areas like: Children, Youth, College, Young Professionals, Singles, Senior Adults, Young Married, Deaf and Handicap, Missions, Strategic Planning, Leadership Development, Outreach, Spiritual Development, Nursery, Newcomer’s, Worship, and many more…

Serve Local Church

Obtaining and being faithful to the vision of the house is vital to Elim Community Church, and thus a vital part of Elim School of Ministry.  Interns/Students will get the opportunity to have an impact on people as they serve at Elim Community Church while acquiring knowledge on the functions of the local church. Interns/Students will serve at Elim Community Church worship services and learn the behind-the-scenes administrative aspects that go into making it all happen, while being empowered to see the role of the local church in reaching the world.

Extend Further

Interns/Students will also acquire basic skills needed to reach outside the church walls and impact people both locally and globally.  Elim will train Interns/Students to share their faith in a variety of settings to a variety of different people, from the inner city to prisons to the upper class communities. Interns/Students will be challenged to live their life with a global perspective as they participate in a short-term mission trip and have opportunities beyond Elim to serve long term. Interns/Students are challenged to give of themselves fully - their talents, treasures, and time for the building of God’s Kingdom through Elim.

CULTIVATE EXCELLENCE

A vital aspect of Elim Community Church is to strive for excellence in everything. Interns/Students in Elim will learn what it means to cultivate excellence in all they do. We want all Interns/Students to aim for the highest quality in every area of their lives, as they are living examples to the world of the Excellencies of our God.

IDENTIFY CALLING

Through Elim School of Ministry, Interns/Students will be pushed to notch up their love for God, others and themselves. At Elim Community Church, we want Interns/Students to grow wholly in their heart, soul, mind and strength. Elim is designed to help Interns/Students begin the journey of identifying and discovering one’s calling, purpose, spiritual gifts, and identity. Whether you decide to go into full-time ministry or not, the ministry skills, Biblical knowledge, and accredited degree you will acquire in Elim School of Ministry will be beneficial for any setting, situation, environment, or circumstance you will find yourself in to help you better live the life God intends for you to live.
