Refund Policy
All costs and fees are non-refundable once actually paid, unless the expenses have not been spent on the Intern/Student at the present time of dismissal or removal, the Intern/Student is subject to partial reimbursement of funds not spent. If an intern wishes to request funds not yet spent they must send a written request to the Financial Officer.
Outstanding Payments
If a Student decides to leave Elim School of Ministry or is dismissed, they will be responsible to pay all outstanding payments. The Financial Agency will send the Student a fee bill. The Student may not request a transcript or receive any course credits for courses previously taken unless outstanding payments have been paid.
Financial Stewardship
Financial stewardship is a key factor in maintaining your status as an Intern/Student. If an Intern/Student falls behind in his or her monthly installments without a plan to become current, it could jeopardize his or her status as an Intern/Student and could result in early dismissal from Elim School of Ministry.
Financial Probation
If an Intern/Student falls behind on his or her payments 2 weeks, then he or she will be placed on “financial probation”. The Intern/Student must submit a detailed list of his or her financial situation and a plan of action to become current on all finances to the Financial Officer. The leadership of Elim School of Ministry will then hold the Intern/Student in strict accountability until all debts are paid.
Financial Dismissal
If an Intern/Student fails to become current on all payments after being placed on “financial probation,” then the leadership of Elim School of Ministry will decide whether financial dismissal is the best course of action. The Intern/Student will not be able to begin the following Trimester courses until all payments are made, nor will they be able to participate in Graduation. If an Intern/Student is financially dismissed and would like to apply for the next year, he or she must pay all past outstanding debt, and must pay the full tuition upfront.
Scholarships
Elim School of Ministry offers limited scholarships at this time, for more information please see the Financial Officer. Interns/Students are encouraged to raise support for their tuition and personal expenses through fundraising and/or support letters. Under Fundraising and Support Requirements, in this catalog, Interns/Students may find recommendations for raising funds. Interns/Students may schedule a meeting with Elim’s’ Financial Counselor prior to applying for Elim in helping the intern set a fundraising/budget plan based off of their personal finances, by contacting the Elim office.
Financial Counseling
The Elim SOM office is aware of the unique pressures associated with intern life in the area of personal finances. Therefore, we have financial counselors available to assist accepted and/or current Interns/Students in the analysis of financial matters. Interns/Students should contact the Elim office to make an appointment as needed.
Finances and Withdrawals
Application fees are non-refundable. A request for a refund must be submitted in writing to the Financial Officer. Interns/Students will only be refunded what has not been spent on the intern at the time of dismissal or withdrawal. An intern who wishes to withdraw voluntarily during a Trimester shall satisfy all financial obligations before withdrawal.
